Ileana Ionascu

Ileana Ionascu received a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Bucharest, Romania, and a doctorate in mathematics from the University of New Hampshire, where she researched invariant subspaces for operators on Hilbert Spaces, in particular the hyper-reflexivity property. She has continued research in this area, publishing papers related to variations of reflexivity of Hilbert space operators. Prior to joining Arizona State University, Ionascu taught at several private universities, covering the entire range of undergraduate mathematics curriculum, designing new courses, advising students and supporting them in undergraduate research. In 2015, Ionascu joined ASU and has taught mathematics classes for business, computer science, engineering and mathematics majors, and supervised students in conducting work to obtain honors credit.
