Angela Frankenfield is the Associate Director of California Strategic Initiatives with ASU EdPlus, where she leads efforts to expand partnerships, advance strategic enrollment initiatives, and create pathways that strengthen ASU’s presence and impact across California. With more than 25 years of experience in education, Angela specializes in strategic planning, systems thinking, and organizational leadership, designing programs that foster meaningful, scalable change. She develops structures for professional learning, enhances student engagement, and aligns initiatives with institutional priorities to drive innovation and sustainable growth.
Angela teaches Honors courses in Principled Innovation at Barrett, The Honors College, where she helps students explore how ethical leadership, collaboration, and creativity can transform communities and organizations. Through her teaching and executive consulting, she equips students and professionals to lead with purpose, build cohesive teams, and guide systems-level transformation.
Her research explores how the Framework for Principled Innovation can be applied to create effective inter-institutional partnerships that expand access and advance excellence in higher education for community college students seeking to transfer. By integrating ethical reflection, empathy, and creative problem-solving into partnership development, her work highlights how values-based collaboration can strengthen educational ecosystems and promote equitable student success.
A lifelong learner and graduate of the Learning Forward Academy, Angela serves as President of the Learning Forward Arizona Affiliate, contributing to national and international efforts to strengthen professional learning systems. She has collaborated with state and national policymakers to expand educational opportunities and secure funding for educators.
