Ibrahim Naim was born in Liberia West Africa. He is originally from Lebanon in the Middle East. He received his secondary education at St. Mary’s High School, a missionary school run by the Franciscan Order, and graduated as the valedictorian of his senior class. He came to the U.S. in 1981 and earned his associate's degree of science in general biology from Cochise Community College in 1983. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in ecology and evolutionary biology in 1985; master's degree in Oriental studies in 1989 and doctorate in Near East studies with a minor in cultural and social anthropology in 1999, from the University of Arizona.
Currently, Naim works as a manager at Glendale Community College, and has been there since 1999. In addition, he is an adjunct faculty at Glendale Community College and faculty associate at Arizona State University's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at ASU West campus. He speaks three languages and dabbles in three more. He is married and has four children. Naim has lived in the U.S., Liberia, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Lebanon and Mexico. He is an international citizen.
