Cora Bruno received her doctorate in behavioral health in 2013 and her master's of social work in 2002 from Arizona State University. She is currently a full-time senior lecturer at ASU in the School of Social Work. Dr. Bruno teaches direct practice courses to on ground and online masters-level social work students, including Mental Health Assessment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Foundation Practice, and Social Work in the Healthcare Setting. She also has a private psychotherapy practice in the North Phoenix/Paradise Valley area. Bruno primarily works with adults and couples in a wide range of areas including depression, anxiety, LGBTQAI+ issues, PTSD, trauma, bereavement, aging issues, sexual addictions and co-occurring disorders. She utilizes Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Mindfulness, and Crisis Intervention in her practice. She also works with individuals and their families who are living with chronic or terminal medical illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, diabetes and other chronic medical conditions.
