Long Bio
Christopher Heckman received a doctorate in Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization in 2000 at the Georgia Institute of Technology for his thesis “Independent Sets in Bounded Degree Graphs”. He has been teaching at Arizona State University since 2000 and has taught classes ranging from College Algebra through Differential Equations, although recently he has taught most of his classes around the calculus level. He developed the Elementary Linear Algebra course and was instrumental in the setting up of the online version of that class. He has been ASU's Putnam Coach for over a decade.
