Alexandra Pye is a postdoc with the Group 18 Laboratories. Alexandra is interested using geochronology and thermochronology to solve geologic problems ranging from the long term evolution of mountain ranges to impact dating. For her postdoctoral research, she is working see if evidence for the Late Heavy Bombardment is recorded in lunar meteorites. Her tectonic research focuses on the timing and nature of detachments (The South Tibetan Detachment System) in the Himalaya, using field work, geochronology, thermochronolgy and thermal-kinematic modelling.
