Lori A. Metcalf received her bachelor's degree from Arizona State University 1988 and her juris doctor from Arizona State University College of Law in 1991. She served as a law clerk at the Arizona Court of Appeals, to the Honorable Thomas Kleinschmidt and the Honorable Edward Voss, from 1991 to 1993. In 1993, Ms. Metcalf became an assistant prosecutor for the City of Phoenix where she tried misdemeanor offenses such as domestic violence assault, DUI and theft. In 1995, she left the prosecutor’s office and went into private practice at the law firms of Jennings, Haug & Cunningham from 1995 to 1997, and Jones Skelton & Hochuli from 1997 to 2000. During that time, she focused her law practice in the areas of surety defense, construction litigation and insurance defense.
In 2000, Ms. Metcalf became General Counsel for Granville Constructors, Inc. While General Counsel, she handled commercial construction litigation for Granville throughout Arizona at the Registrar of Contractors and Maricopa County Superior Court. In 2002, when Granville closed its offices in Arizona to continue business in Canada, she opened her own law practice where she continued to handle litigation for Granville and its surety company and focused her practice in the area of commercial construction.
Ms. Metcalf was appointed as a judge for the Phoenix Municipal Court in February of 2004, where she served for over 14 years before retiring.
Ms. Metcalf is currently a partner with the law firm of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, PA in their Scottsdale office. She focuses her practice area on medical malpractice defense. She is also a faculty associate with the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at ASU.
