Mark Ashbrook received a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Kansas, where his concentration was discrete probability. He joined the mathematics faculty at Arizona State University in 2000, and since then has taught a wide array of undergraduate math courses including Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II & III, Differential Equations, and Statistics. In addition, since 2010, he has collaborated closely with the math education faculty at ASU, both in the teaching of various courses for pre-service math teachers and in contributing to curriculum redesign projects for pre-calculus and calculus. He is second author of Patrick Thompson's textbook "Calculus: Newton Meets Technology" (2016). This text supports the redesigned Calculus I course with which Ashbrook has been heavily involved since 2012, both as instructor every semester and developer working with others to improve and refine the course.
