Professor Alyssa Dragnich earned a B.A. in political science from Duke University and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where she was also Articles Editor of the Chicago Journal of International Law. Following law school, Professor Dragnich joined the firm of Steptoe & Johnson LLP in Washington, D.C. Her practice focused primarily on the regulation of crude oil and petroleum products pipelines before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
She teaches a variety of legal writing courses at ASU Law, and she is an active member of both the Association of Legal Writing Directors and the Legal Writing Institute. Professor Dragnich frequently presents at legal writing conferences around the country and teaches CLEs on legal writing topics. Her recent scholarship focuses on cognitive science and educational theory.
In 2021, she created the Advance Program and serves as Faculty Director.
