Diane Richardson received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Arkansas. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she worked in the semiconductor industry where she began using statistics in her job. Richardson really enjoyed statistics so she took a few classes at Arizona State University. She then taught a Design of Experiments course at her former employer, Microchip Technology. She enjoyed teaching so much that she left industry and obtained her master’s degree in statistics from Arizona State University. She researched Prediction Variance of Cuboidal Designs under Douglas Montgomery and Connie Borror. Since completing her master's, she was hired at ASU in the then Department of Mathematics. She is currently teaching statistics courses as well as lower level math courses. Richardson is part of the committee for hiring and employing the graders and instructional aides for the lower level math courses. She has also participated in ASU Open Door for the past several years.
