Dr. Kathy Wigal currently serves as the Director for Global Operations in the Ira A Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, and Project Director for the Higher Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) in Indonesia, and the Building University-Industry Learning and Development through Innovation and Technology (BUILD-IT) Alliance in Vietnam. Dr. Wigal has held leadership roles in sponsored initiatives in Southeast Asia exceeding $30M since 2014 through public-private partnerships with USAID, industry and others. Prior capacity development projects and assessment and evaluation for sponsored projects in Vietnam and Indonesia, include the Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program (HEEAP), and its companion project, the Vocational University Leadership and Innovation Institute (VULII). She has also served as Project Director for the Leadership in Engineering Education Program (LEEAP): a special initiative supporting Indonesian university level engineering programs to become more globally competitive, achieve international accreditation standards, and cultivate Indonesian leaders and experts that can mentor others.
Her work includes over 30 years in higher education including teaching and administrative experience. Dr. Wigal previously served as university Director for Academic Transfer Articulation, facilitating collaboration, articulation and pathway agreements across HEI’s and spanning over 40 disciplines. Dr. Kathy Wigal holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, a Masters in Business Administration, and a Masters in Community College Education from Northern Arizona University.
