Long Bio
Jazmin Gamboa (she/her) is a doctoral student in Justice Studies in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University. Her research concerns the belonging and othering of immigrant parents and students in the context of higher education. It aims to address specific experiences of im/migrant family experiences in Arizona and address gaps in Access ASU programs for students. Through her research, Jazmin works to change the narrative of parental involvement of im/migrant parents, highlighting the ways that scholarship should contextualize im/migrant parent involvement as it relates to their children's access to social capital in education settings.
Beyond academia, she enjoys exploring playing card games, crocheting, music, and spending time with family and friends.
