Tamara received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa. Tamara has been an RN for thirty years in a variety of healthcare settings including acute care, community health, and hospice. She earned a Master’s in Leadership and Management from Webster University. She also received a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in education from Western Governors University.
Tamara worked for several years in many different areas of healthcare compliance including risk management, case management, and regulatory nursing. She was a nurse practice consultant with the Arizona State Board of Nursing for several years. In this role, Tamara conducted investigations of potential violations of the Arizona Nurse Practice Act and testified at administrative hearings. Tamara has taught pre-licensure nursing and currently is teaching a high school nursing assistant program. In addition to teaching, Tamara develops nursing assistant programs including the curriculum and managing the regulatory requirements.
In 2017, Tamara joined the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation as a Faculty Associate. Tamara has taught several different courses within the Heath Care Compliance and Regulations degree program. One of Tamara’s interests is creating authentic and active teaching strategies to provide students with realistic experiences before entering the workforce.
