Kristi McAuliffe is an instructor of German in the School of International Letters and Cultures. She received her doctorate in German from Pennsylvania State University in 2014. Her doctoral work, "Exploring Otherness through Holocaust Literature in the Undergraduate German Curriculum," is an interdisciplinary study that investigates the use of Holocaust literature in a U.S. post-secondary institutional setting as a venue for the development of certain aspects of intercultural communicative competence.
McAuliffe has presented her research at numerous national and regional conferences, and was named to the Southwest Regional Holocaust Education Summit, as well as to the Hess Faculty Seminar at the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies in Washington D.C. In 2003, she won the Outstanding Professor Award from the Student Wisconsin Education Association.
