Pierce is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Marketing. He joined ASU in 2016 as a Faculty Associate and has taught Fan Behavior / Sports Marketing, Business of Esports, Product and Service Innovation (MBA), and Sports Marketing Campaigns (Cronkite School of Journalism). Pierce works full-time as the co-founder and managing partner of Player 2, a consulting firm focused exclusively on the video game and esports industries.
Prior to his work with Player 2, Pierce has more than 25 years of experience building major consumer brands, as chief marketing officer for the Arizona Coyotes (2014-2016), managing director of marketing and USOC productions for the U.S. Olympics Committee (2006-2014) and director of marketing and creative content for Walt Disney Company (2000-2006).
