Dr. Sauber holds a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy with a specialization in Practice Administration and Management, Master’s Degree in occupational therapy and bachelor’s degree in science. She brings over 29 years of clinical experience as a licensed occupational therapist. She is board certified in physical rehabilitation and has 15 years’ experience in leadership & management. Dr. Sauber has practiced in multiple clinical settings including inpatient intensive care, acute care, acute inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation and primary care. Her areas of specialty in the clinical arena include neurological conditions, balance and vestibular impairments, organ transplants, critical care, and chronic conditions. Dr. Sauber has served in clinical and leadership roles for 22 years at the Mayo Clinic where she continues to work as a consultant in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation & The Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences.
Before joining ASU full time in the College of Health Solutions, DBH Program, Dr. Sauber had been working as an Academic Associate in the DBH program at ASU for 4 years. She is adjunct faculty for, Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, Northern Arizona University and a guest lecturer for Midwestern University.
Dr. Sauber is full time faculty in the DBH Progam at ASU while maintaining consultative services for Mayo Clinic. Her current work is in integrated care and she was instrumental in launching the role of occupational therapy in primary care at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Sauber serves on the American Occupational Therapy Association Board for Advanced and Specialty Certifications and presents at both state and national conferences. She is an Assistant Professor at both ASU and The Mayo School of Health Sciences and is a Senior Fellow in the Mayo Clinic's Academy of Education Excellence in Administration and Leadership as well as holds a Gold level of achievement in Mayo Clinic's Quality Academy. Dr. Sauber served as a Co-Chair of the Mayo Clinic Resource Group Titled "Greater Leadership Opportunities for Women" through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and has achieved a certification in Prosci Change Management methodologies and tools.
Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy with specialization in Health Care Administration and Practice Management form the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.
Master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota
Bachelor’s degree of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Dakota
