Sarah Bentley is a public administration professional with expertise in sustainability, program development, and venue management. She is a double alumna of Arizona State University’s School of Public Affairs, earning her Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor’s in Public Policy, along with a Bachelor’s in Sustainability from the School of Sustainability. She also holds a certificate in Cross-Sector Leadership, is a graduate of ASU’s Public Service Academy, and is a Certified Sustainable Event Professional through the Events Industry Council.
Sarah works for the City of Phoenix as the Sustainability & ADA Coordinator for the Phoenix Convention Center & Venues. In this role, she develops and implements programs for waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, circular economy solutions, and food and material donation partnerships. She also works to operate zero waste events, with notable achievements including a 94% waste diversion rate at the NCAA Men’s Final Four Fan Fest and recognition from the U.S. Department of Energy for energy efficiency.
Prior to joining the City of Phoenix, Sarah worked at Children’s Action Alliance, lobbying at the Arizona State Capitol and on Capitol Hill for policies that improve the health, education, and well-being of Arizona’s children and families.
