Katrina Armstrong, Ed.D., MA
Katrina Armstrong has been the Director of Community Engagement at First Things First, the State of Arizona's early childhood agency, since 2019. In this role, she manages statewide community engagement strategies for the West Maricopa Regions, East Maricopa Regions, Pima Regions, and Phoenix Regions, focusing on the importance of supporting children age birth to five with healthy development and early childhood education. Prior to this position, Katrina was the Community Services Supervisor at the Avondale Police Department for 14 years. In that role, she managed Neighborhood Resource Officers, Victim Services Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, Homeless Outreach Team, and the Avondale Police Department's Critical Incident Stress Management Team. Katrina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctorate of Education degree in Counseling Psychology. Katrina's specialty areas are: team development, community outreach initiatives, program development, violence-related trauma and trauma recovery, and resiliency.
