Adahli Cabrera is a Latina first-generation student who strives to pave the way for her loved ones and the people around her. She is extremely proud of her Mexican roots and acknowledges her parent's hard work for opening the door to higher education. Adahli earned her BA in Secondary Education from Arizona State University and her MEd in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Higher Education from Northern Arizona University. She is currently the First-Year Success Student Engagement Coordinator for Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation. In this role, she actively supports first-year students successfully navigate their transition to college life, both academically and personally. Prior to holding this position, she was teaching math and science at the junior high level. Teaching had a great impact on her career as it allowed her to learn how to support students beyond the academics by building positive relationships and meeting her students' needs. As a teacher, she also learned valuable leadership skills by being a mentor teacher, student council advisor, and after-school program coordinator. One of Adahli's long-term goals is to pursue a Doctoral Degree and focus on supporting students in teacher preparation programs gain the necessary skills to feel confident and effective in the classroom. She is very excited to continue her journey in education at ASU and discover what this new chapter will unfold.
