Barbara Asenjo is a doctoral candidate in the ASU Department of Spanish and Portuguese and is completing her dissertation on the narrative of Cuban author Leonardo Padura Fuentes. She graduated summa cum laude from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological and Ecological Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She completed her master's degree with distinction in Spanish at Arizona State University. Her research interests involve contemporary Latin American literature, film, and culture, with an emphasis on Cuban studies.
