Yeukai Angela Mlambo (PhD) is Executive Director of Africa Initiatives within Arizona State University's Global Academic Initiatives and Assistant Research Professor at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Her administrative portfolio encompasses advancing the university's African initiatives and strategy, and overseeing various EdTech projects, scholarships, and programs including the Mastercard Foundation portfolio.
Her scholarship is focused on transforming higher education leadership by emphasizing access, inclusivity, and equity for historically marginalized groups. Specifically, her research centers on pathways to enhance representation in STEM fields, investigating the recruitment, retention, and sustained success of underrepresented populations in higher education. Her academic interests span across higher education institutions and faculty development in sub-Saharan Africa and the developing world, international student experiences, education partnerships, institutional development, youth transitions, and education technology.
Yeukai's scholarly approach hinges on critical analysis, amplifying marginalized communities' voices, contextualizing phenomena within historical frameworks, and advocating for tangible societal change. She brings a wealth of strategic, operational, and relational expertise across educational and international development sectors. Yeukai received a BSc. in Psychology and a Masters in Research Psychology from the University of Pretoria (South Africa), and holds a PhD in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University. Her unwavering dedication and multidimensional expertise position her as a pivotal figure in advancing accessible and equitable quality education within academic spheres globally.
