Piyumika Suriyampola is a teaching assistant professor and integrative behavioral ecologist in the School of Life Sciences. By integrating field and laboratory experiments (primarily on fish), Suriyampola investigates how behavior, sensory, and metabolic mechanisms enable animals to display resilience to climate change.
Suriyampola joined ASU in 2018 as a Postdoctoral Scholar after completing the first postdoctoral position at Indiana University, Bloomington. She received her doctorate in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from the University of Louisville and her bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka.
Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior, 2013, University of Louisville
