Steven is an experienced higher education professional having worked at both NAU and ASU in Admissions and Advising. His professional and academic focus has been on teaching and learning with his interests focused on improving instruction, course delivery, and assessment processes to keep the direction of learning towards student capability. He has worked on developing department level processes to improve workplace efficiency and consistency while fostering relationships with faculty and instructors that drives transformational course design. This includes building and running workshops and training sessions in previous units and sitting in advisory capacities to a variety of program and curriculum committees. He has earned numerous SUN Awards for his service, leadership, and innovation from his peers and colleagues at ASU.
Steven came to Arizona by way of Northern Arizona University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and a Master of Arts in English: Rhetoric and the Teaching of Writing. Steven completed his Masters in Education in Learning Design and Technology through ASU in May 2020. He keeps himself professionally aware through continued trainings and certifications relevant to his duties such as being Quality Matters certified.
He spends his free time with his wife and son playing games, going on hikes, and generally enjoying the atmosphere in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
