Long Bio
Alexander Sonke is a Ph.D. Student in the School of Earth and Space Exploration studying planetary geology and astrobiology. He uses remote sensing to study geologic processes on the Moon and Mercury, and bioinformatics to study the phylogenesis of oxalotrophy in extremophile bacteria.
Sonke is also a Graduate Research Associate with NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) Science Operations Center where he works in temporal imaging, processing, and calibration.
