Alison England

Alison has a varied background in social work. She has counseled children with behavioral/emotional issues and their families, as a Child & Family Therapist. As the Mental Health Coordinator for Head Start in Tucson, she worked with pre-school children who had emotional disorders. Other experiences that have broadened her knowledge of mental health issues are working in psychiatric hospitals, counseling sexually abused children, leading group therapy for those with AIDS, consulting for the State Of Idaho in Early Childhood, and working as a medical social worker.

Earning her Master's Degree at University of Hawaii, Alison has a passion and interest in Asian Pacific Islander cultures. 

Alison England's experience in higher education spans over 20 years. She has taught and created college courses, both online and in the classroom in the field of social work and psychology.

Her passion is adoption, as her youngest child is adopted. She is a published and best selling author in adoption. Her book, Tandem is the recipient of the Royal Dragonfly Award.

Professor England has 3 children-two are Sun Devils at ASU, and the youngest is in middle school. After her husband retired from the Air Force, he has served as a Judge for the Yavapai-Apache Tribe and is now the CEO of the State Bar of Arizona.

Originally from California, Alison's soul is fed at the beach! As the spouse of an active duty military member for over 20 years, she has lived in many different states: Texas, Hawaii, Colorado, Idaho, Alabama, Maryland, and now Arizona.
