Thai Tran is the Senior Manager for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for the 'Diversifying Semiconductor Supply Chains' (ITSI) Project, implemented by ASU. In this role, Thai oversees the comprehensive quality assurance of all project deliverables, ensuring that activities meet project KPIs and align with established quality criteria. He is responsible for creating and implementing a robust M&E framework tailored to the project's unique context, which includes setting up key performance indicators, data collection methodologies, and evaluation processes to assess the project's effectiveness and efficiency. Thai systematically tracks progress against project goals and objectives, provides regular reports to project leadership and stakeholders, identifies areas for continuous improvement, and recommends strategies to enhance project performance. He works closely with the project team and partners to foster a culture of accountability and evidence-based decision-making, providing guidance and training on M&E best practices to enhance the team’s capacity in monitoring and evaluating their work.
Previously, Thai served as Program Manager for Accreditation and Quality Assurance based at the ASU Representative Office (ASURO) in Vietnam. As the primary liaison with BUILD-IT academic partner leadership, he developed and implemented coaching and training for leadership strategy development, accreditation, and quality assurance technical areas. Thai supported partner university leadership in the development and monitoring of their project goals, KPIs, and workplans to ensure that the programming supported the partner universities’ needs. He brought over 10 years of experience in international and regional education and training for university leaders, administrators, and teaching staff in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Thai also served as an internal quality auditor for SEAMEO RETRAC and managed formative and summative assessment, evaluation, and reporting.
