Taran (she/they), is a graduate of ASU's College of Health Solutions with degrees in Health Education and Health Promotion & Health Science. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), and is currently a graduate student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, working on their MPH in Health Behavior with a focus on LGBTQIA+ health. They have professional experience in curriculum development, program implementation, management, and evaluation, and training. Her interests are in eliminating health disparities within the LGBTQIA+ community by increasing access to affirming and competent health care and educating our public health workforce on the provision of inclusive and affirming services.
They work full-time as a Health Program Education Coordinator for the AIDS Institute within the NYS Department of Health. She trains Disease Intervention Specialists through the CDC Disease Intervention Training Center. She has been working as a Teaching Assistant since August 2020 and an Academic Associate within the College of Health Solutions since January 2022 for HEP 454, HEP 444, HEP 490, HEP 102, HEP 456, and HEP 466.
