Dr. Maisano is a proud Veteran who served fifteen years in the USMC and The Arizona Army National Guard. Dr. Maisano is a combat Veteran who deployed to Iraq (2006-2007) as a platoon leader for a Security Force Company. His duty in Iraq gave him real world experience with combat trauma and began his journey to helping his fellow service members and Veterans. He is committed to providing education concerning Military and Veteran culture to current and future mental health providers. He continues his work with the ASU Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) to reduce the stigma of mental health in the military by educating future officers about the importance of Emotional Intelligence.
