Zak Gutzwiler is a Phoenix, AZ based Sound Designer & Engineer, studying at Arizona State University within the School of Music, Dance and Theatre. Zak specializes in technology for live performance and broadcast and enjoys blurring the lines between sound design for film and theatre. His studies have focused on refining his personal pedagogy and skills within Sound Design for live theatre and musical theatre while implementing new technologies within his designs. Prior to his time at Arizona State University, Zak engineered multiple national broadcasts for the National Blackbelt League and other organizations. Within the broadcasts he engineered, Zak implemented show control techniques, simulcast, and wireless technologies. Zak will complete his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre (Design & Production) from Arizona State University in May 2023, under the mentorship of Dan Jaquette (né Perelstein).
