Karen Engler-Weber serves as the Program Director for the Office of the University Provost as part of the VP Academic Personnel team. In her role, Karen directs and coordinates the work of multiple offices, providing a variety of innovative programming, resources, and support to promote the advancement and success of faculty, staff, and students within the university system.
Karen leads and directs the work of the Office for Faculty Excellence, ASU Commission on the Status of Women, the Career Faculty Association, and the ASU Fulbright Office. Karen serves as ASU’s liaison to the US Fulbright Scholars and Specialist programs, and for three years served as the project manager for the NSF ADVANCE grant. Some of the many programs that Karen directs include the CSW Staff Mentoring & Development Program (only one of its kind nationwide), ASU Professional Development Conference (largest university provided development conference in the nation), and the Launching Leaders Program.
In addition to her current portfolio, from 2008 to 2024, Karen directed and coordinated the work of the ASU Faculty Women's Association, transforming the organization into an important resource for all faculty at ASU. From 2016-2023, Karen served as interim program director for the Office of Inclusive Excellence, managing the work of multiple units to support and advance ASU's Charter.
In addition to over 25 years of experience in higher education administration, Karen has served as an English instructor in ASU’s Department of English for nearly two decades. Karen holds an MA in Counseling Psychology from Seton Hall University, an MA in English Literature (ASU) and is ABD on her PhD in English Literature (ASU). Karen is currently a law student at ASU's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law.
