Design Manager, C&S Chandler (formerly known as STC), Chandler, AZ 2006-2018

·   Managed a team of designers to develop a highly-configurable, highly-scalable security and cryptographic module called CAAM. This included developing the architecture, assigning tasks, and scheduling. CAAM is in over 50 Networking, Microcontroller, and Automotive devices.

·   Designed, maintained, and supported DECO, the main processing unit for CAAM. This is a highly specialized Micro Sequencer. Designed, maintained, and supported a number of other modules.

·   Provided both internal and external customer support. Created training videos to familiarize new employees and internal customers with CAAM usage.

·   Participated in planning the direction for C&S Chandler. Mentor new employees and young engineers.

Hardware/Software Engineer, Semicustom Operations, Chandler, AZ 1996-2006

·   Wrote software tools to support the design team. These included a Verilog parser and tools built on the parser including a scan chain ordering and stitching tool. (This tool received an Engineering Award.) Other tools included one that inserted JTAG into an SoC and another automated and documented ECOs. Some tools were used by other teams across the company.

·   Designed various modules including an eye-training module that could find the eye-center using only 4 transitions, and a power management unit.

 Manager, Large Core Development, Tempe, AZ 1991-1996

·   Managed a team that was among the first to use RTL synthesis within the company. We created Verilog versions of the 68020, the 68030, a SCSI controller, and other modules. These formed the heart of the FlexCore offering which made hundreds of millions of dollars for Motorola.

·   Wrote software and did RTL design in support of these efforts.
