Long Bio
Abigail serves as the Director of School Partnerships for Access ASU, where she leads efforts to expand access to higher education for Arizona’s K-12 students. With a student-centered approach, she collaborates closely with the Access ASU team to build and maintain strategic partnerships with over 60 schools across 10 districts, alongside community organizations and higher education professionals. Her work is deeply rooted in the mission of preparing students for college success and equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in the 21st-century workforce.
With over 21 years of experience in public education, Abigail’s career began in the classroom as an elementary school teacher. She has since served in various leadership roles, including as an instructional leader and administrator across K-12 systems. As Director of Language Acquisition Services, she spearheaded curriculum design for English Language Learners and managed Title federal grant funding, providing vital resources and supplemental programming to support students and their families. In addition, her role as a staff developer with AVID Center allowed her to deliver professional learning to more than 800 educators nationwide, fostering a community of practice focused on implementing AVID’s College and Career Readiness Framework.
Throughout her extensive career in education, Abigail has championed curriculum development, continuous improvement models, and leadership strategies that have driven measurable success for students transitioning from middle school to high school and beyond. Her dedication to student success extends beyond the classroom. As a member of the Board of Directors for Girls on the Run Maricopa & Pinal Counties, a council of Girls on the Run International, she helps inspire young girls to unlock their limitless potential and navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
An Arizona native and first-generation college student, Abigail is deeply connected to the communities she serves. She is a proud alumna of Maricopa County Community Colleges, Arizona State University, and Grand Canyon University, holding a bachelor’s degree in elementary education (bilingual) and a master’s degree in educational administration. From being an English learner in Arizona's K-12 public schools to earning her master's degree, her personal journey fuels her dedication to education.
Abigail remains committed to making higher education accessible for all Arizona students, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to achieve their academic and career goals.
