Terra Mcshane

I am a higher education administrator at Arizona State University with extensive experience in finance, business operations, human resources, research administration, and strategic planning. Throughout my career, I have focused on creating efficient, people-centered operations that support faculty, staff, and students while advancing the university's broader mission.

In my current role with the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy (SEMTE) within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, I provide leadership and strategic oversight for the school's business operations and human resources functions. My responsibilities include financial management, resource planning, operational strategy, policy compliance, and supporting the administrative needs of a diverse academic and research community. I work closely with school leadership, faculty, and administrative teams to align resources with institutional priorities, improve service delivery, and develop sustainable solutions to complex operational challenges.

A significant part of my work involves leading organizational improvements, strengthening collaboration across functional teams, and identifying opportunities to streamline administrative processes. I am especially interested in creating integrated approaches that reduce administrative burdens on faculty while ensuring employees have the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed.
