Nina Hanenson Russin spent 30 years as a working journalist prior to entering ASU's DBH program, including ten years as a syndicated columnist at the Chicago Sun-Times, along with national digital and print media. She completed her doctoral degree in 2024, and is currently a postdoctoral scholar within the Cancer Prevention and Control Translational Team (CPC TT) at the ASU College of Health Solutions (CHS). A long-time endurance athlete, she has completed 10 marathons including a Boston qualifier, and carried the Olympic torch in 2002.
