Long Bio
Alexander van Engelen uses observational and theoretical techniques to gain an understanding of structure formation in the universe. Most of his work involves the cosmic microwave background (CMB). He’s focused on using this light not only directly, to learn about the earliest epochs, but also as a backlight that can inform us about nearly all of cosmic history. He’s an assistant professor in the School of Earth and Space Exploration.
