Kiril Hristovski is an associate professor in the Polytechnic School, one of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, and a senior sustainability scientist with the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability. He is also a faculty member with the environmental engineering graduate program in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at ASU, a faculty advisor in the environmental and resource management program in Barrett Honors College, a faculty member with GlobalResolve, and the international collaboration liaison for the Center for Excellence in Emergency Management and Homeland Security in the College of Public Service and Community Solutions at ASU. In addition, he is affiliated with the Center on the Future of War and the School for the Future of Innovation in Society at ASU.
Among his research interests is nanomaterial synthesis and their environmental applications and implications; development, engineering and management of environmental systems for developing countries and countries with economies in transition; physical and chemical water and wastewater treatment; solid and hazardous wastes and materials; water quality and emerging contaminants; environmental and emergency management nexus; and environmental health and safety.
His awards include the Presidential Academic Award, presented by former U.S. President George Bush, Sr. (1991) and the Presidential Medal of Merit, presented by the president of the Republic of Macedonia (2016).
