Long Bio
Jake Okun is an Instructor in the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. He holds degrees in Manufacturing Engineering and Robotics and Autonomous Systems with a concentration in Systems Engineering, both from Arizona State University.
As teaching faculty, his priorities are instructing and mentoring students in the areas of manufacturing, robotics, and systems integration. Jake brings applied experience in wearable robotic systems, exoskeleton devices, industrial automation, and human–machine integration into the classroom, connecting theory with real-world applications. His teaching emphasizes not only technical skill development but also teamwork, problem-solving, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies in advanced robotics.
His background includes research in wearable robotic systems and exoskeleton devices, with additional experience in industrial automation, robotic applications for manufacturing, and human-machine integration. In the classroom, he is passionate about preparing students with both the technical skills and systems-level thinking needed to succeed in modern robotics, manufacturing, systems engineering, and automation industries.
In addition to his teaching, he is an active member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), where he continues to engage with the broader manufacturing community. His interests include advancing robotics in manufacturing, improving human–machine collaboration, and supporting the next generation of engineers entering an evolving workforce.
