Brian Yslava-Molina is a first-generation college student pursuing a degree in data science with a concentration in computational mathematics. Prior to joining the Enterprise Policy Analysis team, Brian has served as an intern with Aliento—an organization dedicated to making higher education more accessible to all students regardless of immigration status—and the City of Phoenix Mayor's Office. Additionally, Brian has served as a research fellow in the ULTRA Center—a lab seeking to provide the scientific background of the phenomena associated with ultra-wide bandgap materials used in semiconductors. In the lab, Brian conducted research on diamond synthesis and metal contact points on diamond-powered semiconductors. Each of these experiences has ultimately influenced his desire to pursue a career in public policy, where he believes that he can use his background as a data scientist, researcher, and public servant to influence policy decisions that affect his communities.
