My research is focused on finding and improving alternative methods to mosquito control. The heavy reliance on pesticides have created a growing problem of resistance within mosquito populations, making the chemical method of pesticides less and less effective as they are used.
Finding ways to make alternative methods such as electric fields more effective and accessible is very important to try and combat pesticide resistance, especially in areas where the spread of disease such as malaria, dengue, and west nile virus are prominent causes of death.
