Allison Mills is the Senior Director, Strategic Communications and Content Operations at ASU EdPlus. Throughout her career at Arizona State University, she has built and led high-performing teams spanning SEO, UX writing, content strategy, multimedia marketing, and copywriting, with a focus on advancing content from a tactical function to a strategic driver of growth and reputation. She has partnered across business units, guided strategy, managed relationships, and established scalable content frameworks that align messaging, strengthen brand voice, and support enrollment and innovation goals.
She currently leads strategic communications and content operations, overseeing thought leadership, discoverability of content (both human and AI), storytelling development, internal and external messaging, content systems governance, and content strategy for EdPlus and ASU Online. Her work focuses on building resilient, future-ready content systems that integrate AI thoughtfully while preserving the distinctly human elements of storytelling, judgment, and brand integrity. Known for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to clarity, she positions communications as both a strategic advisor and an execution engine in service of ASU’s Charter and continued innovation in higher education.
Prior to coming to ASU in 2019, Allison worked for five years in copywriting and digital content roles at Grand Canyon University and Grand Canyon Education. Her background includes teaching English and reading courses at Paradise Valley Community College and copywriting courses at Grand Canyon University, working for startup companies in writing and editing roles, serving as a writing tutor at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, and freelancing for the University of Arizona Press. She earned her master's degree from Nottingham Trent University in Nottingham, England and her bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.
Allison has been married to her husband for 12 years and is the proud mom of two amazing children. She is an Arizona native who loves to spend time with family and friends, read cozy mysteries, and watch bad reality TV. She has traveled to all seven continents and visited every Disney theme park in the world.
