Long Bio
Haven is a PhD student in the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University with a BA in Human Services and Social Justice and minor in Sustainability from George Washington University and a Masters of Arts from ASU's School of Sustainability. Haven's research and academic interests revolve around the connections between climate and social justice and building regenerative community capacity through systems change. Primarily, Haven looks into the interactions between systems of oppression and (un)sustainability. Her current work focuses on prison abolition and sustainability and understanding the systemic mechanisms that create and perpetuate unsustainability and the carceral state in the U.S. Outside of school, Haven loves to cook for friends, hike and camp, and watch bad action movies.
