Miyeko Mana is an assistant professor in the School of Life Sciences. Honing in on the intersection of stem cells, diet and cancer, Mana's research focuses on how various diets, ranging from high-fat to calorie restriction, impact stem cells and create vulnerabilities that can lead to transformations that result in tumor initiation. She has received multiple awards, including the American Cancer Society Fellowship, National Science Foundation East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes Fellow, and the National Institutes of Health Developmental Genetics Training Award.
