Long Bio
Anastassia is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Biology program, advised by Dr. Emilia Martins. She is broadly interested in the evolution of animal communication systems and specializes in multimodal signaling (when animals use two or more sensory systems to communicate). She investigates the functional and evolutionary relationship between visual and chemical signals in Sceloporus lizards using behavioral, morphological, and phylogenetic comparative approaches. In addition to research, she is passionate about teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
