Long Bio
Yeeun Kim 김예은 (she/her) is a fifth-year doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology program at Arizona State University (ASU). She earned her bachelor’s degree in Education and English Language Education, with a minor in Psychology, from Korea University in Seoul, South Korea. She went on to complete a master’s degree in Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Sogang University in Seoul.
Following her master’s program, Yeeun gained practical experience as an intern counselor at the Sogang University Counseling Center, where she also earned certification as a counselor in Korea. At ASU, she has expanded her clinical training through practicum placements at the ASU Counseling Training Center, ASU Counseling Services, and ASU Behavioral Health.
Yeeun’s teaching experience includes four years of leading CED250: Career Development courses, co-teaching Counseling Skills, and supporting various classes within the Counseling and Counseling Psychology programs.
Her research interests center on addressing microaggressions against women and people of color, with a focus on feminist and liberation psychology as well as the dynamics of the counseling training environment. Yeeun is committed to advancing culturally responsive practices, teaching, and research in counseling and psychology.
