Alica Benning

Alica currently works as Project Coordinator for Dreamscape Learn. Dreamscape Learn is a collaborative venture between Dreamscape Immersive and Arizona State University, merging advanced experiential pedagogy with the entertainment industry’s best cinematic storytelling to deliver unique virtual reality course experiences which are demonstrably efficacious and emotionally engaging.

Alica is collaborative, positive, adaptive, driven, and organized. She possesses strong interpersonal, oral, written, and visual communication skills and is adept at fostering personal connections with students, stakeholders and colleagues alike.

Previously, Alica worked as a Program Coordinator with ASU's Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, managing the Grand Challenges Scholars Program (GCSP) and the Fulton Accelerated Community Engagement Program (FACE). Before her time at ASU, Alica taught High School English and Art. She also taught Introductory Screenwriting at Northwestern University while pursuing her Master of Fine Arts Degree in the Writing for the Screen & Stage Program.

Alica holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Arts (Theatre Performance) from the University of Southern California and a Master of Fine Arts in Dramatic Writing from Northwestern University. Her creative work centers on the intersection of mental health and trauma with the femme experience. In her free time Alica writes original music, and enjoys roller skating, photography and pottery. Currently, she is also pursuing a second Masters' degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Ceramics at ASU's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
