Amelia Hay is the program coordinator for the Department of Culture and Access within the Herberger Institute of Arts and Design Dean’s Office. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Art, Teaching & Learning from Northeastern State University, in Tahlequah, OK. She continued her studies after serving with the Peace Corps and graduated from ASU’s School of Social Transformation with a Master of Arts in Social and Cultural Pedagogy where she explored her interest in curatorial activism and teaching for social transformation. Her previous work experience includes spending 5 years with Philbrook Museum of Art, in Tulsa, OK, where she worked in Education, creating inclusive public programming and directly serving as a teaching artist. Additionally, she served as an Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (I.D.E.A.) Fellow for the Children’s Museum of Phoenix and was the Learning & Co-Creation Specialist for the ASU Art Museum prior to joining the Dean’s Office team. During her time at the Museum, she oversaw all public programs, events and community engagement as well as established the Creative Aging and Lifelong Learning (CALL) Workshop series for adults 55 and older.
