Mariana Silva, MS CCC-SLP is a bilingual speech-language pathologist and PhD candidate in the Speech and Hearing Science program at Arizona State University (ASU) under the mentorship of Dr. Shelley Gray and Dr. Laida Restrepo. She received her Master’s Degree in Biobehavioral Sciences, specializing in Speech & Language Pathology from Columbia University, where she also earned a bilingual SLP certificate. Her research aims to mitigate educational and clinical inequities for children from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds at risk for or with a developmental language disorder (DLD) by combining word learning research with vocabulary interventions. Mariana is a former New York City Teaching Fellow and public school teacher.
She is also the proud recipient of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Hispanic Scholarship Award and Outstanding PhD in Speech and Hearing Science Award from Arizona State University (ASU).
