Long Bio
Ameera Eckles-Sabree is a dedicated higher education professional with a passion for student success, equity, and holistic development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Marquette University, is a licensed massage therapist, and has earned a diploma in holistic health from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Currently, she is furthering her education by pursuing a Master of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education right here at Arizona State University. Go Sun Devils!
Ameera’s journey into academic advising stems from her deep love of helping others navigate their educational paths. She believes that today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, revolutionaries, and creative thinkers, and she is committed to guiding them toward success in ways that honor their unique values and aspirations. With a long-term goal of becoming a Dean of Students, she envisions creating inclusive, empowering environments where students from all backgrounds feel a true sense of belonging and support.
Beyond her professional goals, Ameera has a full personal life filled with diverse interests. She enjoys hiking, horseback riding, incense/candle making, photography, and at home spa dates with her partner. She shares her home with her partner and her one-year-old Akita mix, Marley, who keeps her on her toes. When it comes to food, she can’t resist a great plate of steak, calamari, French fries, or carne asada tacos.
Ameera finds comfort in storytelling and nostalgia, often unwinding with her favorite shows, A Different World, New Girl, and Abbott Elementary, or revisiting the classic films The Wood and Dirty Dancing.
With a deep commitment to fostering inclusive, student-centered experiences, Ameera continues to ensure college is a special place full of endless possibilities—one student at a time.
