Jennifer Werner is an AI Strategist and educator at Arizona State University with more than 20 years of experience in technology‑enabled teaching, learning systems administration, and digital learning innovation across K–12, higher education, and corporate environments. Her work focuses on the practical and ethical integration of generative AI into teaching and learning, grounded in a deep background in educational technology, instructional design, and scalable learning infrastructure.
As Dr. Werner began her career in education she designed and delivered hands‑on, technology‑rich instruction. Throughout her career she has led and supported a number of initiatives in the intersection of technology and education. The initiatives have included expanding digital access, instructional capacity, and learner engagement strategies, across age groups and organizations. She later transitioned into instructional design and LMS administration roles, supporting the implementation, management, and optimization of enterprise learning technology systems and large‑scale online learning environments.
Within ASU Enterprise Technology, Dr. Werner collaborates with faculty, academic units, and institutional partners to advance AI literacy, instructional innovation, and emerging learning technologies. She has led workshops, consultations, and professional learning initiatives for more than 3,000 faculty and staff members, supporting pedagogically grounded use of platforms and tools such as Google Gemini, NotebookLM, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and ASU‑supported AI resources in alignment with institutional goals.
Her research explores the impact of artificial intelligence on communication and critical thinking, with a focus on human-in-the-loop approaches.
