Nicolo Michelusi

Nicolò Michelusi is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at Arizona State University. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Padova, Italy, and an M.Sc. degree from the Technical University of Denmark. Prior to joining ASU in 2021, he was a faculty member at Purdue University and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Southern California.

Michelusi's research lies at the intersection of wireless communications, information theory, optimization, and machine learning. His work focuses on AI-native wireless networks, distributed intelligence, goal-oriented communications, and over-the-air computing, with applications to 6G networks, edge AI, and autonomous systems.

He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and has served in leadership roles across the communications and networking research community, including as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and IEEE Transactions on Communications. His honors include the NSF CAREER Award, the IEEE Communications Society William R. Bennett Prize, the IEEE Communication Theory Technical Committee Early Achievement Award, and the IEEE ICC Best Paper Award.
